Privacy policy

This describes how BRIEF. ("we") handles information when you use the BRIEF mobile apps and related services at briefvocal.com. Use of the service is also governed by our Terms of use.

What we process

The app captures voice input and produces text output (Architect, Assistant, Ghostwriter). To do that we may process audio or transcripts on device and send transcript text to our servers for enrichment. Authentication may be provided through an identity vendor (for example Clerk). Purchases may be processed via platform billing and RevenueCat. We aim to minimize data collection to operating the product.

Log on your device

When you save a brief to Log, the app stores the transcript, the three outputs, and—when available—the original recording in local storage on your phone or tablet. That lets you replay a capture and, if you want, share the raw audio file through your system share sheet. Those log files are not uploaded to us as a synced library; they stay on your device until you delete the app or clear data. Sending text for enrichment uses your transcript on our servers as described above—it does not change that the recording file remains local unless you choose to share it.

How we use information

Provide and improve the service, secure accounts, troubleshoot, comply with law, and enforce our Terms of use. We do not sell your personal information.

Third-party services

The product may rely on subprocessors chosen for infrastructure, authentication, AI processing, and payments. Their terms and privacy policies apply where relevant.

Retention and your choices

Retention depends on account status, legal obligations, and security needs. If you sign in from the mobile app, you can initiate account deletion from Settings → Account & billing → Delete account. That aligns your hosted sign-in identifier with deletion and wipes on-device logs and synced settings caches on this device where the app applies that cleanup.
